February Update: House SOLD!
February 25, 2010
We thank God each and every day for you all and your faithful prayers for us and for this new beginning in Squamish. Our Pender Harbour home has been sold! As I was praying six months ago about the price, I believe that I heard very clearly from God what it would be. As the months wore on, I had begun to wonder if it had just been my overactive imagination. However, as always, God is faithful...and his timing is exactly perfect. After a couple of attempts at a low-ball bid, the buyer came up with a “final” bid that was exactly what God had told me! Was there ever any doubt? No! Thank you Jesus for you faithfulness!
Thanks to the help of Max Kretschmer, David Johnston & Frank Gough the renovations to the Ministry Centre have almost been completed. The storage cabinets for the Food Co-op are well under way. We have procured some new equipment & are awaiting delivery of our tables and for the Olympics to be over to purchase some “excess” chairs. The manager of one of the local large grocery chains has expressed an enormous interest working with us to get the Co-op up and running. Again, prayers are answered beyond what we can ask or imagine! Thanks be to God for favour with this local merchant!
I had a great visit with friends a couple of weeks ago...and they blessed us wonderfully with a mountain of adult discipleship & evangelism resource materials, saving MVM hundreds of dollars. Again...God is faithful
We are still seeking discernment for a young Pastor or couple to fill out our ministry team, and for lay people to come along side us as we work to build a vibrant ministry. Please be in prayer that the Lord will raise up pastors and lay ministers who would be the perfect fit for this ministry.
We would still love to begin an Alpha course this spring. However, it may have to happen later, as all our efforts this month will be on getting the Co-op functioning effectively. Please continue to pray that we will be able to raise helpers for both the Co-op and Alpha and that we can attract 10-15 young adults who would like to learn what the Christian faith is about.
Mary and I are in Pender most of this week trying to get the house packed up and ready to vacate on March 15th. Please pray that we will be back-smart and that the many trips to the dump, recycling, Re-Store, Share Shed & Salvation Army will get all the excess stuff into just the right hands where it can be best used.
Other Prayer Concerns
- Sale of Pender Harbour Home SOLD Alleluia!
- Recruit Launch Team
- Favour with Squamish Community: As we approach start-up for the Food Co-op, There is likely to be a lot of confusion in the community about what we are doing. A couple of people have already “warned” us about appearing to be in competition with other social agencies. So, we would appreciate prayer for clarity and understanding....and for the opportunities to cast the vision key community groupings.
- Finances: Lord has graciously put it on the hearts of many supporters to donate for our 2010 expenses. As you can see, our need list is being ticked off one by one.(PTL!) However, some things that we still need are:
- Kitchen Gear $500
- Prayer Room Furniture $500-700
- Adult Discipleship Material $500-1000 (Alpha & 40 Days of Purpose) Supplied TBTG!
- Intern/Assistant Pastor $2000/mo.
If you believe that the Lord may be calling you to covenant with us in prayer, financial support or even in ministry... we would love to hear from you. Please tell us what you receive from the Lord as you pray. Your discernment will help us to continue to walk in God’s will and timing.
